Swan Dancing with the Stars is the twenty-third episode of the first season of Regal Academy.
Synopsis[]
Headmistress Cinderella holds a dance competition at her castle, but Vicky brings trouble with the help of Rothbart, the evil wizard from Swan Lake.[1]
Plot[]
In the woods, Vicky recruits Rothbart for her next evil scheme, much to the horror of Cyrus and Ruby, whom are terrified of his monster form.
At the Regal Academy ballroom, Headmistress Cinderella tells her students that the dance competition will be held later that day, at night.
When Odette leaves class, Rothbart transforms her into a swan, prompting Vicky to put a bucket on her and trap her.
During dance class, Travis does not dance well with Joy. Meanwhile, Rose is practicing dancing with Ling Ling and suggests that she use her martial arts to dance. However, Ling Ling uses her martial arts against Rose and pins her to the ground. While she is down, Vicky enters the scene and impresses everyone with her dancing. She reveals that Rothbart is her dance tutor.
As Rose and her team leave dance class, Rose reminds Astoria that Odette is her childhood friend and they come across the bucket and release Odette.
Joy attempts to transform her back, first by using lilies, which do not work because they are the wrong kind, and then by bringing her to Doctor Le Frog, which also does not work because the spell is too strong.
Astoria remembers that there is a book in her grandmother's class which can reverse the swan curse, but as they are searching, Vicky and her team enter the class. Vicky claims that her dance tutor will teach dance moves to them.
As they are dancing, Rothbart transforms them into swans. Rothbart and Vicky's team leave the room, but not without an evil laugh.
Although Rose's team, Ling Ling, and Odette have been transformed into swans, they discover that the way to break the curse is to perform the swan dance on the next full moon, which is on that exact day, otherwise they will remain as swans until the next full moon. They leave the library and head to the nearby lake, where they perform the dance.
Meanwhile, the dance competition has started and Headmistress Cinderella is reluctant to have Finn Whale dance with Gerald Ugly Duckling. She thinks it would be best to cancel the dance competition entirely or delay it.
As Rose and her friends are performing the swan dance, Rothbart unsuccessfully intercepts them. Rose and friends drive him off, and afterwards, decide to perform the swan dance at the competition, where Vicky's team has gone to.
Finn and Gerald dance, but not until Gerald collapses from Finn's weight. As a result, Headmistress Cinderella is ready to cancel the competition due to lack of competitors, until Vicky's team arrives.
Vicky's team dances, and they easily impress Headmistress Cinderella., but Rose's team make it to the competition and perform the swan dance just in time. They transform back into their human selves and confront Rothbart.
The guards confront Rothbart and he is captured. Vicky claims no knowledge of his malice and Astoria is excited to receive the top grade.
However, Ling Ling impresses the class with her dancing skills and wins the competition, which upsets Astoria and Odette, both of whom start crying. Rose realizes that the competition has brought them closer together and she winks at the camera.
