"I think I love you!" - Vicky, thinking that she loves the Evil Queen
Hawk and the Poisoned Apples is the seventeenth episode of the first season of Regal Academy.
Synopsis[]
The Evil Queen becomes the new poisons teacher; Hawk and Rose must convince the teachers that the Evil Queen is up to no good before she can kidnap Granny SnowWhite.[1]
Plot[]
Rose's team encounters a stone giant in the middle of Regal Academy, and Rose defeats it after Hawk freezes it. Afterwards, Rose proclaims that they will be in time for their afternoon class. However, Astoria realizes that the class was in the morning and not the afternoon, hence they missed an entire class.
At her office, Professor Snow White berates the team for missing class and threatens to break their team up if their grades do not improve. Hawk says that they cannot attend class because they are always on a mission. Nevertheless, she scolds them off to Potions Class.
There, Doctor Le Frog is not going to teach the students how to make poison, but rather, how to combat it. Vicky however, used sleeping poison on her fellow students, but it is no concern since owl gas is a remedy. The owl's gas may be foul, but it is an antidote to poison.
When Dr. Le Frog introduces his guest teacher, the Evil Queen, Hawk is immediately alerted, calling her "insanely evil." But Doctor Le Frog tells him that it is rude to call her "evil," but Rose is quick to point out that she is literally named "Evil Queen."
The Evil Queen reassures him that everything will be fine. She claims that Professor Snow White has forgiven her and has also granted her permission to be on campus.
For this class, she orders the students to pick an apple, one that is pure and untainted. Despite Hawk's leeriness toward the Evil Queen, he is the first to volunteer. However, the apple he gets makes him fall asleep.
Gerald eats an apple which makes his body odor smell like a fat swamp fly, so all the frogs in class (including Joy) chase after him. Travis eats an apple which makes him levitate randomly and uncontrollably. Rose eats an apple which makes burritos magnetically attach to her. Violet eats an apple which causes her to pass through floors. Joy eats an apple which makes her breath apple juice. Astoria is quick to say that this is lame, until the Evil Queen clarifies that she will breath apple uice instead of air. Consequently, Joy is about to suffocate and puts her head into a bowl of juice, to which Astoria then realizes the danger.
After class, the effects of the tainted apples wear off, with Rose being a minor exception. Hawk is absolutely sure that the Evil Queen is planning something evil. However, his team points out that his intuition has not always been accurate, such as the time that he attempted to rescue a princess from an ogre, but she happened to be the ogre's daughter, Violet; or the other times where he saved other princesses, who happened to be wives and mothers who did not need rescuing.
Hawk demands an explanation, and takes his team to his grandmother, but Coach Beast is substituting her class due to her absence.
The team goes to Snow White's office, where she is not present. They also discover that her magic mirror is missing. Hawk concludes that the Evil Queen has taken it.
In the meantime, Vicky introduces herself to the Evil Queen, whom is carrying a large bag that is mumbling and making noises. The Evil Queen claims that she has renounced her evil ways, but shortly after, admits that she is just as evil as before.
Vicky joins the Evil Queen and poison the teachers. Headmistress Cinderella eats the apple that attracts burritos to her. Magister Rapunzel eats the one that makes her breath apple juice. Dr. Le Frog eats the one that makes him fly uncontrollably. Coach Beast eats the one that makes him smell like swamp flies.
The team discovers that the Evil Queen is at the gate, where they confront her. The Evil Queen claims that the mirror originally belongs to her. Just before they fight, Ling Ling joins them. When the Evil Queen uses apples that turns their magic against them, Ling Ling claims that she does not need magic.
However, the Evil Queen reveals that she has trapped Snow White inside the mirror. She threatens to shatter the mirror and thus, kill Snow White.
Joy, whom has been transformed into a frog, thinks of something to do. She calls for Hawk's owl, whom releases gas.
Then, Rose remembers that owl gas is the antidote to poisoned apples; so Travis throws Hawk's owl at the Evil Queen. The owl passes gas and returns their magic to them. In addition, Professor Snow White is freed from the magic mirror and she proceeds to beat the Evil Queen while Vicky escapes. The team goes around campus and cures every teacher that ate a poisoned apple.
After curing Dr. Le Frog, Rose asks Joy how she remembered that owl gas is a cure, to which she explains that she did not; she just likes the smell, to which the others are grossed out.
Major Events[]
- The Evil Queen is granted amnesty by Snow White and appears as a guest teacher for Dr. Le Frog's class
- The Evil Queen steals Snow White's mirror and traps her inside of it
- When Snow White is released from the mirror, she fights the Evil Queen and presumably, bans her from Regal Academy

Trivia[]
Although Joy chases after Gerald when he smells like a fly, her grandfather does not do the same, despite being a frog himself. Either this is a mistake or Dr. Le Frog can resist his frog instincts
Rose still has a magnetic attraction to burritos (tacos) during flower feeding time. However, the effects of eating poisoned apples are no longer present on other students. Travis is no longer levitating, Joy can breathe, and Violet is not falling through floors. This suggests that Rose did not use owl gas in-between scenes, or the apple she ate has a longer duration of effect
Mistakes[]
In the scene where Magister Rapunzel is breathing apple juice, Astoria's outfit changes from her regal armor to her school uniform.
Ling Ling is present during Potions Class when the Evil Queen orders her students to eat poisoned apples. However, in the following scene, Rose claims that she did not see her
